POVORA BodyCam Track makes live basketball debut at WNBA All-Star

POVORA’s BodyCam Track system has been deployed in live basketball for the first time during the 2026 WNBA All-Star event in Chicago.

Working alongside ESPN and ABC, the system provided a first-person perspective from a game official without requiring a camera to be mounted on the referee’s head.

BodyCam Track combines a lightweight body-mounted camera with POVORA’s motion-sensing technology, allowing the camera to follow the direction in which the official is naturally looking.

As the referee turns their head and moves around the court, the camera automatically adjusts in real time, creating a more natural and intuitive first-person picture for viewers.

Basketball represents an especially demanding test because of the speed and constant changes of direction involved, making the successful live deployment an important milestone in the development of the technology.

The system was first launched with ESPN earlier this year and we believe it has potential across a wide range of sports where a natural first-person view can enhance the broadcast without affecting the wearer.
