POVORA has completed a major run of live CapCam deployments with ESPN across four of the biggest events in US college softball and baseball.

The run began at the SEC Softball Tournament from 5–9 May at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, Kentucky, where two POVORA CapCams were deployed with a complete transmit-and-receive system to provide live first-person pictures from the field.

This was followed by the SEC Baseball Tournament from 19–23 May at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama, again with two live CapCams and POVORA transmit-and-receive technology.

From 28 May–4 June, the team moved on to the NCAA Women’s College World Series at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, with two CapCams giving ESPN viewers an official’s-eye perspective during one of the biggest events in college softball.

The run concluded with the NCAA Men’s College World Series from 12–22 June at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, where two POVORA CapCams were once again integrated into ESPN’s live coverage.

Across the four events, the cameras provided a unique view from the officials at the centre of the action, capturing perspectives which traditional broadcast cameras cannot replicate.

The deployments continue POVORA’s growing relationship with ESPN and demonstrate how lightweight wearable cameras can be used repeatedly across major live productions while integrating into established broadcast workflows.

For POVORA, the project represents another important step in making first-person camera angles a regular part of live sports coverage in the United States.
