POVORA has launched its latest live broadcast camera innovation at the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Working with ESPN, we deployed a new body-mounted camera system designed to move with the wearer’s gaze. The system combines POVORA’s lightweight live camera technology with a connected earpiece and motion-sensing technology, allowing the camera to follow where the wearer is looking, rather than simply pointing in a fixed direction from the body.

This creates a more natural first-person broadcast angle. As the wearer turns their head, tracks the play or follows movement across the court, the camera can move with them, giving viewers a closer and more instinctive sense of being inside the action.

The technology builds on POVORA’s camera work, designed to make live POV pictures feel more human, more immersive and more useful for sports broadcast.

The launch took place during ESPN’s coverage of the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship.

For POVORA, the project demonstrates how wearable cameras can evolve beyond a fixed body angle, creating a live broadcast perspective that moves naturally with the person wearing it.

We are very excited by this development and would like to thank ESPN for its support in bringing it to market in the USA. It is believed the device could be used in a large number of sports across the world, including basketball, football (soccer), tennis, rugby and many more.
